Help Bring Voice of Vanilla to Life

I’m thrilled to share that Voice of Vanilla, my documentary film about vanilla farmers in Madagascar, is getting closer to completion—and I need your help to cross the finish line.

Voice of Vanilla is a deeply personal project. It explores the untold stories of the people behind one of the world’s most beloved and valuable crops—vanilla. Through intimate interviews and vivid visuals, the film reveals the complexity of global trade, the environmental challenges facing Madagascar, and the extraordinary resilience of the people who grow and cure vanilla by hand.

As I’ve worked on this film, one thing has become clear: to truly honor the voices of the people who trusted me with their stories, the translation of their interviews must be precise. While I’ve had previous versions of the subtitles reviewed, I recently connected with a translator from the vanilla region—someone who understands both the nuance of the local dialect and the subtlety of English. His work will ensure the heart and meaning of every word shines through.

To make this happen, I’ve launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise the money needed to pay for these final translations.
